Conference Announcement

The Chinese Association for Science and Technology - USA (CAST-USA) will hold its annual conference on 11-12 March 2006, in Fairfax County, Virginia near Washington, DC. The conference will include technical meetings during the day and a dinner party in the evening.

The conference is held to enhance the understanding of the challenges and perspectives; to explore collaborative and mutually beneficial opportunities in sciences, technology and businesses; and to promote communications and collaborations among various professionals in career and enterprise developments. The main theme of the conference is "perspectives of science/technology and business/career development", which is based on the premise that the current advancements in science and technology provide enormous potential for vast new opportunities and challenges.

CAST-USA, established in 1992, is a nation-wide professional organization in the United States. One of the goals of CAST-USA is to promote a strong partnership between the U.S. and China in science and technology exchange and business development. It has become one of the leading overseas Chinese-American professional organizations in the United States. Members of CAST-USA are from universities, research institutions, federal and local governments, business enterprises, and other professional communities. CAST-USA and its local chapters and technical societies have organized a variety of educational, technical, and business seminars, forums, and conferences, which have promoted partnership for many in different disciplines. We have also organized delegations to and from China for various professional and business activities.

Governmental and Congressional officials, business executives, and leading members of other professional organizations from both the US and China will be here to deliver speeches to the conference. Members from nation-wide chapters of CAST-USA will come to attend the conference. Participants to the conference are provided opportunities to interact with each other to promote mutual understandings and partnerships.
